Can I Get Financing For A Car Before I Actually Start The Job?

I just graduated and accepted a job in another state, and currently have no car. The salary is decent for the area at $55000 and I will be receiving a small sign on bonus of $4000. However due to the fact that I have nothing, much of the $4000 will be used for initial rent, a bed, etc.
Will I be able to buy a car in the state I'm moving to before I actually start? I don't need a super car or anything, just something that can take me from point A to point B. Will I be approved for a loan and financing based on just accepting the offer?
